Deadline: February 12
Equality Florida has issued call to young LGBTQ+ artists for visual artwork inspired by the theme of “Safe.”
What does being safe mean to you? When do you feel safe to be who you are? What is your safe place? Is your safe place a location, person or activity? How can those around you make you feel more safe?
Work can be in any medium and include hangable art or sculpture that is 16” x 20” or equivalent size. Selected works will be displayed in the LGBTQ+ Youth Art Show at the St Pete Shuffleboard Court on February 23.
Equality Florida is Florida’s largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization. We are dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s LGBTQ+ community. In the wake of the mass shooting at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub on June 12, 2016, Equality Florida committed to honor the victims with action. Our Safe and Healthy Schools Program is aimed to end LGBTQ bias where it begins, in our schools. By helping our schools and educators create safe spaces for LGBTQ youth, students feel welcomed, supported and can thrive.
