Ales Bask Hostomsky

Ales Bask Hostomsky is a St. Petersburg based mural artist and painter popularly known simply as “Bask.” A nationally acclaimed street artist with a singular style, Bask was born in Czechoslovakia in 1984 before moving to Florida with his family.

Bask has developed a recognizable visual style of controlled messiness – intentional drips and splatters often blending with pop culture imagery that all add to the visual strength of his murals and paintings. His work can be found on many outdoor walls and galleries throughout the United States, including one of his best known on the 600 Block of St. Petersburg’s Central Avenue. Additionally, his work has been featured in prominent exhibitions in arts destinations such as Brooklyn and Detroit and even the blockbuster movie Ironman 3.
