Cynthia Mason’s art combines painting, installation and sculpture in a unique hybrid of visual art. Trained in architecture and graphic design, she uses a range of unconventional materials with paint – from junk mail, pins and plaster to 24 karat gold leaf, hot glue and Styrofoam – to construct her complex, three-dimensional works.
Mason received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ringling College and a Masters of Fine Art degree at the University of South Florida. She has exhibited her work in many regional and national venues, both solo and in group exhibitions, and has participated in various workshops and notable residencies.
She currently lives and works in St. Petersburg, Florida.
