“We are excited to roll out the 2017 Arts & Cultural Organization Grant,” said Elizabeth Brincklow, Engagement Director for Creative Pinellas. “When we launched our first organization grant program last year, we knew there was a need for grants for youth arts education programs. We were delighted with the outstanding quality of the programs provided in 2016 and are pleased to launch the 2017 with an expanded grant use period that covers both the 2017 summer and fall. Pinellas County has an arts community of national and international renown, and the grants program assists the organizations in covering a variety of operating costs for their education programs.”
In addition to the creativepinellas.org website, where interested applicants can go to learn more about the 2017 Arts & Cultural Organization Grant, Creative Pinellas will be holding one workshop to assist applicants in developing and submitting a successful application. Led by Creative Pinellas Engagement Director Elizabeth Brincklow, the workshop will be held Wednesday, January 25, 10-11:30 a.m. The workshop will be held at Park Station operated by City of Pinellas Park, 5851 Park Blvd Pinellas Park in Suite 202.
Creative Pinellas will also be introducing new and expanded grants starting in 2017. These include grants for emerging artists and for mentoring artists to assist them in developing their skills and portfolio; funding for artists and arts organizations to travel and represent Pinellas County at renown arts and cultural events, or to host visiting artists locally; funding to expand existing successful events to larger audiences throughout Pinellas County; organizational grants to support nonprofit arts and cultural programs and revolving grants to help nonprofit organizations meet specific needs throughout the year.
“This is a very exciting time for us,” said Barbara St. Clair, Executive Director of Creative Pinellas. “There is so much energy for the arts right now throughout Pinellas County and it is great to be able to tap into it and support it. From our Impact Returns grants to our meet-ups and workshops, to our brand-new website at creativepinellas.org, we are working hard to make a positive difference and are pleased that we are getting great feedback from the community for our efforts. We are looking forward to the new year and to contributing even more.”
Funding for these and other Creative Pinellas grants are dependent on the support and overall budget approval of the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners.
