Coralette Damme’s primary work is block printing, though she is also a trained painter who has also worked in ceramics and stained glass as well. Her art is noted for its bold contrasts and strong colors and is infused with humor, surrealism, folk art and mysticism. Other inspiration comes from her German heritage, love of language, nature and her daily life.
Damme received her BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has been residing in St. Petersburg, Florida since 2002. She has been part of numerous juried group and solo exhibitions and art festivals held across Florida as well as in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, and she is recognized internationally by patrons and fans across the globe.
In addition to her traditional exhibits, Damme teaches workshops, initiated the local “Free Art Friday” and is also the Marketing Director for the non-profit visual and performing arts venue The Studio@620 in St. Petersburg.
